Emoji star in McDonalds new campaign (we’re lovin’ it)

The emoji bandwagon just keeps a-growin’, so much so that we’veĀ already dedicated an entire blog post to the rise of them! Now that McDonalds have jumped aboard, we can barely turn a corner without seeing our favourite brightly-coloured friends.

Instead of adorning our tweets and texts, these emoji are letting us know how to improve any sticky situation: by having a McDonald’s, of course.

In a world where pretty much everyone has a smartphone, emojis have essentially become a second language.

While the original emojis have been up and running since 1999 in Japan, their rise in popularity can be pinned down to their 2011 inclusion in Apple’s iOS system.

Since then, emoji have continued to break barriers and become used by people and businesses alike, with everyone having their favourite one.

We can’t lie, we’re fascinated with these little images in our phones, and we couldn’t help but make this blog post detailing some of the coolest things that have been done with emoji.
