Our work: Social campaign for The Nottingham Building Society

After our successful Christmas campaign for The Nottingham Building Society in 2014, they asked us back to give it another go. The result was our latest social campaign, Saving Christmas.

For 2015 The Nottingham wanted a social media campaign that would remind followers of their savings accounts options while also having a bit of Christmas fun.

When discussing our initial ideas (which involved a lot of chatting about our favourite festive films) we realised that most Christmas stories had one thing in common: something was always saved, whether Christmas spirit, family relationships, or even Christmas itself.

So, we drew inspiration from some of our favourite examples to create a series of Facebook posts that invited users to share their best savings tips. For example, with a post based on Elf, in which the main character is a Christmas decoration whiz, we asked followers to tell The Nottingham how they save money on their decorations.

The campaign, which we ran on Facebook and supported with blog posts on the building society’s website, featured illustrations by our illustrator and artworker, Dave, plus conceptual work, copy and strategy from our copywriter, social media manager, and social media assistant.

The competition’s almost over and it’s drawn some fantastic levels of engagement; we can’t wait to take a look at the stats. Merry Christmas, one and all!
