Our work: Robin Hood Energy

October 30th, 2015 / Sophie Allen

If you’re a Nottingham resident or have recently passed through the city centre, you might have spotted some of our latest work promoting Nottingham City Council’s new energy initiative.

The not-for-profit Robin Hood Energy company is the first of its kind to be owned by a local authority. It offers extra low tariffs to ensure all of Nottingham’s residents are provided with affordable energy.

We’ve done our bit to promote the new scheme by developing a new Robin Hood character and incorporating him into a series of outdoor ads. Our resident artworker and illustrator, Dave, designed the character, bringing a little flair to the classic image of Robin Hood with a quirky illustrative style and a rather jauntily cocked eyebrow.

We then made Robin the star of our ads, which we’ve spotted all over the city – though our favourite has to be this one, where he’s swinging daringly across Nottingham Town Hall.

Robin’s also featured in some the Council’s other materials, like the Council’s magazine for residents.

We had great fun working on this project, and are looking forward to working with the Council again in the future. If you spot Robin while you’re out and about, be sure to send us a picture!
