Blue Monday is *apparently* the most depressing day of the year. Every third Monday in January we all rally round and ask ourselves if we are actually feeling “blue” or if the internet is just telling us we are. Either way, we love the hype on social of a trending hashtag. Here are 9 of our favourite social posts from the gloomiest 24 hours of the social media calendar!

New client: Son of Steak

There’s a new cow in town – and we’re spreading the word.

Opening towards the end of March in Nottingham’s Trinity Square, Son of Steak is the newest restaurant to come from Mitchells & Butlers, one of the UK’s largest bar, pub, and restaurant brands and owner of popular chains like Harvester, Toby Carvery, and All Bar One.

We’ve taken on Son of Steak as a social media client, and have just launched its Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter channels. That’s all we’re saying for now – we don’t want to spoil anything! – so follow Son of Steak on social to see what it’s all about.

If you read our recent blog about My Healthy Kitchen, one of our newest clients, you’ll know that we’ve spent the last month or so working on the brand’s website and social media.

Well, My Healthy Kitchen (myhk) has just launched – which means our site and social channels are now online.

We’ve designed the website to be simple yet aspirational; it’s filled with gorgeous food photography of the brand’s fresh, tasty meals, and the navigation allows users to explore products and learn all about myhk with ease. The tone of voice is foodie with a fun edge, reflecting how the product makes healthy international cuisine quick, accessible, and enjoyable.

Brands reacted to Pi Day exactly as you’d expect

If there’s one thing we know that brands love, it’s declaring that seemingly random days of the year are actually bursting with significance. Today is one such an event, with the internet exploding in support of Pi Day.

Backed up by the logic that the first three digits of pi are 3.14, and, in America at least, the fourteenth of March is written as 3.14, brands haven’t wasted a minute in celebrating.

Despite the mathematical decimal placement having nothing to do with the sweet (or savoury) baked treat, the first thing you’ll notice about Pi Day on social media is lots and lots of pie.

Twitter tinkers with timeline – and users aren’t happy

Twitter’s timeline may not be faultless – but it sure ain’t bad. That why we, and Tweeters everywhere, are stumped as to why they have decided to test out a new, non-chronological timeline with some users.
